Past couple weeks

Liz & Don have introduced us to many new things including.... dinner at Ikea :) I never thought I would do it BUT - it's actually quite good!!! I had the veggie lasagna and some cake mmmmmmmmm. I know, it's very exciting news, huh????

The weather has been awesome, so we've been on quite a few walks with the little George man.

This is how George let's me know he is too hot or too tired to keep going...he just stops :)

In other news two weekends ago we celebrated our first summer BBQ at home complete with some veggie skewers made by Ty which were absolutely delicious, he's the best.

This week brought on a new challenge for Tyler and Don - building a fence.
Old fence (before Ty tore it out):

Maybe Tyler just wanted to load up the truck?

A mere 24 hours later - new fence

So...if you need a new fence, Tyler and Don can be hired out for superb fencing projects :) What did Liz and I do while they were building a fence? We walked around the lake and played with Liam (George is smitten!)

Then yesterday we celebrated my birthday complete with lots of PINK, a surprise BBQ with friends planned by Ty, a delicious cake and a long walk with George. What a day!

Melanie and Reuben arrived in style on the infamous box bike carrying the baby... it was way cool.

But every good weekend must come to an end :) Thanks to all who helped make my birthday a great day especially Mr Dowd.

Made for a pretty tired George

AND of course, Happy Birthday to my other half (literally) my twin, Andrew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Ty- you clearly win husband of the month!!!! From doing manly man things like building fences...to doing super sweet things like surprise birthday parties (complete with tablecloths!). WELL DONE! Katie, sounds like you had a wonderful birthday! Who would have thought you could ever have an outdoor birthday party in March?!?! George is adorable with the baby!!!!!!!!!!! (even though he still acts like a baby himself- get your butt up and walk home mister!).Enjoy the warm spell!!!

  2. And here is Ryan's tip: soak the bamboo skewers in water for a few minutes...you will get less wood splints in your food & avoid breaking them as you put the food on.

  3. You are such an awesome documenter and picture taker! Loved reading this post. What a fun weekend :) Thanks for watching Liam for a bit -- those picture of him with George are too cute! Also, Tyler's party was a HUGE success! Glad you had a good birthday!

  4. Howdy Katie - The IKEA dinner looks good. We have done the breakfast several x. It is just 99 cents (or it was). We remember how Mr G would just lay down when tired or hot. He was always able to find the smallest bit of shade :) The BBQ's look good too. It is possible to do very good vege on the grill. Dan has made some pretty amazing vege-burgers. Nice you can have your first BBQ in March too :) the pics of Liam with George are the cutest. Liam is very British sounding. Maybe Don &/or Liz are British background. Looks like you had a nice birthday. Happy birthday Katie.
